Nucleic Acid Extraction Systems
Automated and semi-automated systems for DNA and RNA extraction from biological samples (whole blood, plasma, serum, swabs, FFPE tissue, fresh and frozen tissue, urine, saliva, stool, microbial cultures). Three main methods are used: magnetic bead-based extraction (the gold standard of automation — silica-coated or surface-modified magnetic particles), silica spin columns (the classic Qiagen method) and vacuum multi-position manifolds. Standardizing the pre-analytical stage is critical for downstream methods: qPCR, dPCR, NGS, microarrays, Sanger sequencing. Automation reduces the risk of contamination, ensures reproducibility and raises laboratory throughput from dozens to hundreds of samples per shift.
